Youth Camp General Information
- The Residential Youth Camp 2025 for AWGPUK, is being organised by the Youth Groups of AWGPUK, and the theme of this camp is; ‘Connect Reflect Perfect’.
- The residential is being held at Mount Cook Adventure Centre, Porter Lane, Middleton, Matlock, Derbyshire, DE4 4LS. Please visit www.mountcook.uk for more details about the venue.
- The dates of the camp are Thursday 31 July - Sunday 3 August, with an aim of arriving at the venue at midday on the 31 July and leaving at midday on the 3 August.
- Each person staying will be charged £125, irrespective of the number of nights they stay. This cost covers indoor accommodation, food, activities, and anything else as part of the youth camp only.
- It is the responsibility for attendees to arrange transport to the venue, however just as previous years, it is likely transport will be provided by the Youth groups, depending on where the participants are coming from. Leicester will have a pick-up point from Gayatri Centre, Rendell Road, Leicester, LE4 6LE (or close by). All youth camp attendees need to be at the Centre for 10.00am. Other areas like Coventry, London, Crawley will likely make arrangements at the beginning of July after the registration closing date. Gayatri Pariwar will try to help with transport where possible, but ultimately any transport costs other than what is provided from Leicester will fall on each attendee.
- Food provided for the attendees will include a minimum of three meals which will cover breakfast, lunch and dinner, with fruit, snacks and drinks available at regular intervals where required. The food will be pure vegetarian, so this means nothing that contains eggs, gelatine, or animal fat. The food will be cooked on site by trained kitchen volunteers and support staff, where the kitchen leads will have attained a certificate in food & hygiene. The kitchen is off limits to youths and access will be enforced to key personnel only.
- There will be no alcohol and smoking of any sort is not permitted.
- The accommodation has a number of rooms, which contain bunk beds and own bathroom facilities. The youths will all be sharing with other youths as well as youth leaders. No youth will sleep in any individual room. Male youth leaders will share larger rooms with male youth and female youth leaders will share larger rooms with female youth only. We will try to keep families with young children together where possible.
- We anticipate around 150 attendees for this camp who will be staying over. A list of Youth leaders is available on request. Where possible, Youth Leaders will have DBS checks carried out. Many Youths already have this as part of their day jobs like teachers, local government professionals, medical professionals, etc…. The youth leaders who are conducting the workshops and managing activities may also be volunteers in a supporting capacity. So these volunteers are part of the global organisation, but may be from different parts of the country as well as outside the Country. These supporting youth leaders will have been vetted and signed off by the youth team leads.
- The camp will include workshops, indoor & outdoor activities, evening entertainment, yoga, meditation, group work, debates, performances, arts & crafts, as well as other fun activities suitable for the age group and in line with the charities mission & vision. There will also be instructor-led paid activities that we will arrange with the venue and the cost of these will be incorporated within the price.
- Electronic gadgets, including mobile phones, tablets, games, cameras, are not allowed and to be kept in dorms. We encourage all youths to leave mobiles at home, however if there is a reason to bring a mobile then it may need handing in to be looked after by a youth leader.
- AWGPUK are not responsible for any accidents or loss to personal belongings. You may want to take out your own travel insurance if you require any cover.
- Youth are not allowed to bring any sweets, chocolates, or anything else to eat or drink, as this will all be provided by AWGPUK
- Youths do not need any money.
- Youth leaders will have mobile phones and internet connectivity, and in an emergency parents may contact a youth leader or the youth will be allowed to contact their parent/guardian/carer.
- Priority for attending will go to regular attendees of any of our youth activities.
- All payments need be made by their due date, which will be give when place confirmation information is been sent following registration. Deposit payments secures a place.
Rules During the Residential
The following code of conduct will be shared with all attendees;
- Please make sure that if you need to leave the group at any time please inform an adult member.
- You must stay with your groups/teams at all times apart from free time and bedtime.
- Do not leave the building/site without permission from an adult member.
- Do not speak to any strangers other than the members belonging to the Youth Camp.
- If you feel unwell, uncomfortable or unhappy, please inform an adult member straight away.
- If there is a fire or fire drill, please go to the nearest fire exit and meet at the agreed meeting point.
- Do not touch, vandalise or disfigure any unauthorised parts of the building or equipment.
- Do not fight in any form with anyone (verbally or physically).
- If you need to regularly apply medicine during the Youth Camp please inform an adult member at the start of the camp.
- Mobile telephones seen on any youths will be confiscated.
- Do not waste food
- Listen to adults at all times
- Anyone misbehaving will be sent home
- Take part & listen in the workshops & activities
- Have fun
Health & Safety
- The venue have carried out their own risk assessment which can be found on their website. AWGPUK will be adopting their risk assessments for the site and their activities.
- There are a number of youth leaders who are first aid trained and have undergone fire marshal training.
- DBS checks will be carried out for all Youth Leaders where possible.
- Some activities may require discretion by the Youth Leaders to assess whether it may or may not be suitable for a youth attendee to participate in. Where possible, an explanation will be provided.
- All data provided for youths will be kept securely online and will be used for the purpose of this youth camp and any of the preferences chosen in the registration form. No data is sold or shared with any third party.
- Photography and videography will take place throughout the youth camp and may be used for charity advertising or as part of charity events that take place.
- The registration form must be used to declare any medical conditions, allergies, and anything that youth leaders need to be aware of.
- Where medication is required, this must be clearly explained on the form, and this will be followed up by a Youth Leader prior to the trip.

- AWGPUK Youth Groups are part of All World Gayatri Pariwar (UK), which is registered under the charity SVGPUK. Charity number 1025804
- Youth Groups take place both online and offline throughout the UK, and each Youth Group has one or more Youth leaders, who are or may work closely with official Regional Coordinators of AWGPUK.

- AWGPUK reserves the right to cancel the youth camp at any time. Full refunds will be given if the reason is due to a decision made by AWGPUK. In a situation where it is pandemic related, we would review the options given by the venue and make a decision accordingly. This may be postponing to a suitable future date. Full refunds are available for any cancellations before 30th June. After this date, it is non-refundable, however we would review each circumstance on a case-by-case basis.
